What we tell you about
Money due, GST dates, the safety of your data, reminders you set, and news from Akmo.
- Money: invoices due soon or overdue, and quotations about to expire.
- GST: return due dates for the way your business files.
- Your data: backups that are getting old and sync that needs attention.
- Your reminders: the ones you set, at the time you chose.
- Akmo: replies to your tickets, new features, maintenance, security and legal notices.
We never send anything to your customers on your behalf. Reminding a customer is always your own tap.
How often
One brief a day at 9.30 in the morning, at most two urgent alerts, and quiet hours at night.
Your phone or computer gets one morning brief a day, at 9.30 unless you change it, and only when something needs you. At most two urgent alerts are added, such as a GST return due today. Reminders you set arrive at the time you chose. Nothing arrives between 9 pm and 8 am unless you change those hours.
No ads
No ads and no third-party offers, ever. Akmo's own offers need your yes and come at most once a month.
We never send ads or offers from other companies. Offers about Akmo's own plans arrive only if you switch on "Offers from Akmo", at most once a month and never at night.
Why and how to stop
Each notification explains itself. You can turn each kind off for the app or for this device.
Every notification has a "Why?" that tells you the reason, such as "INV-0042 was due on 10 October", and a switch to turn that kind off. All the switches are in Settings, then Notifications.
Your privacy
Reminders are worked out on your device. Your lock screen shows no names or amounts unless you choose.
Akmo works out your reminders on your own device, so your customers' names and your amounts never reach us. Your lock screen shows only "You have 3 things to look at today" unless you choose to show details, and never shows them while the app lock is on. Messages from Akmo are the same for everyone using the same app version, language and kind of device.
Privacy policyWhat you cannot turn off
Only security and legal notices, and they are clearly marked.
Security notices and changes to our terms or Privacy policy cannot be turned off, because they affect your safety and your rights. They are marked "Security" or "Legal".
